Ace News - December 2008
The ACE lives! This newsletter marks the posting
of our newly revised website, packed with all new photos, information &
details of finished ACE's, as many have requested. Our
thanks to Carol, the webmistress, for putting all these new materials
together into an attractive & cohesive presentation.
This
fall has been a rush of exposure and publicity for the ACE.
Two freshly finished cars were shown by invitation at the Seattle
International Auto Show. The cars were featured on local tv
and radio spots & seemed to go down well with show-goers jaded by
stamped-out appliances.
Immediately following the Auto show, we were honored to be joined by
Andrew English, Motoring Correspondent for the London Daily
Telegraph, for a day of discussing and road testing the ACE.
Andrew is a wide ranging and prolific motoring writer with a real
soft-spot for Cycle-Cars (there is a Tri-King in his garage back in the
UK). During our test drive of two ACE's, we were blessed
with only wet pavement & leaves to contend with: no falling rain.
Although Andrew complained of wheel spin through 3 gears with the
Screamin Eagle engined car, his huge smile revealed a favorable
experience. As soon as Andrew's ACE article is published, we will
make it available through a website link.
A
few days later, a whimsical piece appeared in the Seattle Times:
the link is available on our home page.
Coincidentally, we were also visited by Jack Lewis of Motorcyclist
Magazine who was unaware of the other publicity but wished to
investigate the ACE. I arranged to meet Jack before sunup
and with only our headlights showing the way, took him for a memorable
drive on the most twisted road I know. Later, in the daylight,
Jack took the car for a spin. Jack has a unique vision and writing
style, I really look forward to reading his piece: again we will provide
a link when available.
After so much exposure, it is refreshing to just pull back and quietly
assemble the next couple of ACE's here in my shop while dreaming of
ACE drives to come.........
Have a wonderful holiday season!
Respectfully submitted,
Pete Larsen
